Figurative Painting Workshop

This workshop will be spent studying the dynamic nude. Working from a live model, we will begin by distilling the models’ movements into the basic, powerful forms that are the foundation for every figure.  These gestures are the jumping-off point for our compositions.  Using strong value and warm and cool color, we will learn to create powerful paintings that go beyond the perceived limitaions of the nude model standing on a stage.

The workshop will begin with quick painted or drawn sketches and then move toward developing strong figurative compositions with several longer poses.

Be ready to use your paints boldly. Vivid color, strong contrast, dynamic compositions and an extra dose of passion will be required throughout the
workshop!
