January – New Year, New Classes

Tired of whittling away on paintings from your photos only to have them end up looking like badly painted versions of those same photos?  Maybe the faces aren’t landing, or you’re finding the color difficult.  This term we will start off with some questions:  “Is this photo worth painting?” will be right at the top of that list.  Could it be the composition, the lighting?  What’s the focal point?  What is holding the viewers’ attention and where does the eye tend to travel?  Photographs can be fantastic tools to work from but they have their limitations. I want to move beyond those limitations. Let’s try some new approaches.
