Heading to the National Society Of Illustrators in NYC.
I will be in Manhattan on January 11th at the National Society of Illustrators where one of my pieces will be on display and included in its 61st-anniversary publication. The Society of Illustrators will be presenting the premier showcase for illustrators, featuring the most outstanding works created throughout the year. Open to artists worldwide, thousands of entries are considered by a jury of professionals, which includes renowned illustrators, art directors, and designers.
Founded in 1901, the society of illustrators is the oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to the art of illustration in America. Notable Society members have been N.C. Wyeth, Shel Silverstein, and Norman Rockwell, among many others.
In 2019 I will be honored by The Society of Illustrators for my work with the National Labor Federation calendar. The calendar, produced entirely through volunteer effort, depicts the work of community-based, free and voluntary associations such as Northwest Seasonal Workers Association in Medford. I have been the calendars most published artist having created a different illustration for each of the 12 months, the center poster, and the cover of the calendar over the last 15 years. Some of the nationally recognized artists whose illustrations have also appeared in the calendar include Gary Kelly, Gregory Manchess, and C.F.Payne who was inducted into The Society of Illustrators hall of fame in 2018. My 2018 calendar illustration will be on display at the Society of Illustrators Museum of Illustration, 128 East 63rd Street, New York City – January 9th through February 2nd, 2019.
